hi + new newsletter coming

new year new newsletter

happy new year!!! i somewhat abruptly stopped doing this newsletter when i was in the clearance process for a government job in 2023! since then, i worked at the civil rights division of the department of justice until very recently! I was helping their work related to the October 2023 AI Executive Order and helping the division address ways data and automated systems are used to carry out civil rights violations.

now, i’m at the consumer federation of america (CFA) leading their AI and Privacy work — i’m very amped about it! if you have collab ideas or want to reach me related to work — i can be reached at bwinters@consumerfed.org

i’m writing here because while i’m not posting here anymore (for now!!), i am starting a new newsletter about AI/Data Privacy policy. it’ll focus on statehouse action and enforcement,but will have a touch of the same news and be a reasonably good replacement for this newsletter (minus some sass, probably!)

First one goes out a week from today, and it’ll be biweekly!
